BYK-348 Leveling Agent from BYK Germany is a silicone surfactant for aqueous systems. It strongly reduces surface tension, resulting in excellent substrate wetting and leveling. This additive does not cause foam stabilization, does not increase surface slip, and does not impair recoatability. If higher surface slip is required, it is recommended to additionally use BYK-307 or BYK-333.
Features of BYK-348 additive: Does not affect recoatability, reduces surface tension in aqueous systems, greatly improves substrate wetting and leveling.
BYK-348 Leveling Agent is recommended for all water-based coatings, printing inks, and clear varnishes, as well as adhesives—especially for formulations without co-solvents.
In adhesive applications, BYK-348 Leveling Agent reduces the surface tension of water-based adhesives, thereby improving substrate wetting. It may have a slight foam-stabilizing effect. The additive does not increase surface slip and is particularly suitable for adhesive systems free of co-solvents.
